Pilleve was started 4.5 years ago with the mission to prevent opioid abuse and addiction. We have stuck with the mission but are exploring new avenues to reach it. We started by building our device that attaches to prescription vials and dispenses one pill at a time. We hear a lot of great feedback on it and are working with a few clinics and are starting up a pilot with the VA and potentially an NIH grant, but we may not be hitting an immediate need. So we are trying a bit of a pivot and ramping up a texting service that collects usage data and we provide clinical staff that will monitor the data and reach out to patients to make the care more human.
This is almost like starting a new company, without having to worry about some of the boilerplate infrastructure.
